DRA NEWS

Duzan Riding Academy welcomes the Friday Family and “Izzy”

On September 1, 2010, Duzan Riding Academy will take over full operation of the facility that our lesson program operates out of. Zach and I will be living at the house on the property, and we are very excited for the opportunity to not only grow our business, but to be able to offer even higher quality care to our boarded and lesson horses, and provide more services for our clients. Some of the facility changes we are looking forward to include new footing in the indoor arena, new footing and fencing in our outdoor arena, a run in shed for pasture board, and a heated lounge. We will continue to exceed industry standards in caring for our clients and boarded horses while centering our business around creating a positive and educational environment for young riders. Youth programs will include a student run pony club for lesson students that will meet once monthly, and a new program entitled “Stable Saturdays” for anyone who wants to learn more about horse care and management. We also are in the process of forming an Interscholastic Equestrian Team. We are excited about our future and hope that you will join us!

Happy Trails!

About Molly Duzan

Molly Duzan is the Owner and Manager of Duzan Riding Academy  where she conducts riding lessons, summer camp, and pony club under her company. Molly has nearly twenty years of experience in the horse industry that includes riding, competing, training, breeding, and teaching lessons. She has participated in Hunter Under Saddle, Hunters (jumping), Equitation, Western Riding, Horsemanship, Showmanship, and Reining. Molly has broke and trained several horses that have gone on to be solid, competitive youth horses.

Molly began riding at the age of eight at Autumn Rose Farm where she rode and competed under Ollie Griffith and Clint Ainsworth for twelve years. While at Autumn Rose, she also assisted with summer camps and therapeutic riding.

During high school, Molly worked for various farms and increased her knowledge of horses and the horse industry, and continued training at Autumn Rose.

Molly received her B.S. Degree in Agriculture from The Ohio State University where she majored in Animal Science. While at OSU, she competed on the Equestrian Team and worked at the OSU Equine Facility where she helped train horses, breed, and deliver foals. During Molly’s final year at OSU, she also refined her skills in horse training and reining horses at Roseland Farms under the supervision of Brandon Brant. This experience was simply invaluable for Molly because she got to ride and help train some of the best horses in the world of reining.

Molly currently breaks and trains several horses each year, and works with riders to bring them to a higher level of communication with and understanding of their horse. She is a member of the American Riding Instructors Association and is currently completing her certification from that association. She is also an active member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the United States Equestrian Federation, and the Ohio Hunter/Jumper Association. Molly loves giving children and adults a broad and well rounded education about horses. She enjoys training, showing, and breeding horses.
